Carys is FOUR

Our little Miracle Girl turned 4 on December 29!! She kept changing her mind about what she wanted to do for her birthday party and what she wanted her cake to look like. Finally she made a decision. She opted to have her party at a moonwalk place with all her school friends, non-school friends and family. She also decided she should have a pink castle cake. "God help me" was my first thought. Carys had a castle cake for her first birthday and it was a lot of work. Too bad she didn't remember it...so here I went making a castle cake to feed 50+ people. It turned out pretty good and tasted great. We all had so much fun at the moonwalk place. One of her friends told her parents that if she didn't get to have her birthday party there too, that she wouldn't come to her party. That cracked me up!!

Carys has come so far in the past four years. She is a loving, caring, smart, beautiful, sweet, sensitive, thoughtful , creative, active, healthy little girl...just to name a few words to describe her. She is a great big sister and we love her so much! Thank you God for letting her stay.

Just sharing a poem that I read often while she was in the NICU 4 years ago:
Heavenly Father full of grace
A ray of sunshine upon her face.

On this night there's one thing I pray
You gave her life so please don't take it away.

You sent her an angel to stand by her side
Thru heal pricks for gases, not a tear did she cry.

All ten fingers and all ten toes
Barely as big as a giant rose.

From two pounds to four pounds you're on your way home
My precious little girl, oh how you've grown.

On this night there's one last thing to say
Thank You God for letting her stay.

Christmas '09

The girls with their tree on Christmas Eve...

We couldn't have asked for a better Christmas holiday season. We were at Disney World the first week of December, for our third year in a row. When we were there last time, Wraiya was only 9 weeks old. Now she was 14 months. She loved all the characters. Carys is officially a fairy. Terrance sprinkled fairy dust in her hair when we were at Pixie Hallow. I think she still has some in there. The second and third weeks we finished up our Christmas shopping and decorating. This year Carys decided not to leave cookies for Santa because everyone else does. She thought he would like Cheerios instead. So that's what we did. We left him a bowl, with the milk on the side. Carys loved getting her photo with Santa. Wraiya did not. Both girls had a blast opening presents here, with Grammie and Papa, and with the Davis family. It was a great day.
