Where Has Time Gone?

I can't believe I haven't posted anything since January. It is fair to say things have been busy here. I haven't even done a great job of saving my photos that I've taken each week onto my computer. Hopefully this will be a new fresh start.

Last night I went to a digital scrap booking party. That party kicked my butt back into gear regarding photo editing and sharing. I have so many photos of my family and daughters. Unfortunately, they are mostly saved on my external hard drive. What good does that do me? Nothing really! I think I'm going to try my hand at this digital scrap booking and start enjoying all the great photo memories that we have. Thanks Melanie for inviting me to the party.

Now onto updates. Tim is still making trips here and there for work. Right now he's in NJ. I reminded him that last year at this time, which was over my birthday, we were in NY, NJ and PA. When he's not working he's spending time with his 3 girls. We (mainly Tim) are finishing up some of the loose ended home improvement projects. We are back on the market looking for a new home...bigger home. Tim has a pretty good idea of what he would like, as do I and Carys (sorry Wraiya...you are along for the ride). Carys wanted us to buy this one house we looked at because one of the bedrooms had butterfly knobs on the closet doors. Tim is our realtor and he's a pretty through one at that.

I started a new job in February. I'm no longer doing mental health therapy. I have taken a job with the Lenawee Intermediate School District working the Early On program 16 hours/week. This program works with children birth to 3 who have developmental delays and/or health conditions. I'm very fond of this program as Carys participated in it due to being a preemie and having a hearing impairment.

Carys has now completed her 2nd year of preschool. She is such a smart girl. She loves to write her name and Wraiya's and daddy's and mommy's and pretty much anyone else you spell for her. She is looking forward to the summer: playing outside, in the water and summer camp. Carys loves playing with all the neighborhood children and our friends' children. She's really into playing school, house, beauty shop and doctor. Oh, she also loves driving her power wheels truck and jeep all over the yard. At 4 1/2 Carys is 41 inches tall and weighs 36 -38 pounds, depending on what scale she's on. We are still meeting with the audiologist every 3 months. Her hearing keeps fluctuating. Right now we are still not going to use hearing aids as her learning and speech are not being effected. We pray that her hearing does not get any worse.

As of today, Wraiya is 20 months. She is a petite little thing. She finally weighs 20 pounds and is 31 inches tall. Wraiya loves, loves, loves her "lovey" (her green and blue tiger blanket). I had to order more and I could only find them in the UK. We now have 6. She is using 2 word phrases and sometimes 3. Wraiya too is very smart. She loves to color but gets pretty board with painting. I already have her helping Carys and I in the kitchen. It's probably time to buy that 2nd step stool. Wraiya loves all the same things Carys does, of course. I would add that Wraiya loves to play babies, little pet shop, play kitchen and loves to dance and sing. The girls love to have dance parties and watch themselves dance and sing on tv. Wraiya loves the Wiggles and Elmo. Sadly, she knows Dora, Diego and Max & Ruby. When I get the camera out and call Wraiya's name she says "cheese". She will not say Carys' name. She would rather call her "sissy". The name she loves to say is "Reese", her cousin. Both girls love spending their day each week with Grammie and Grandma Davis.

Thanks for not giving up on me posting over these last months. Thanks to my sister-in-law Tami asking me if I've "updated yet". I hope you all have had a happy and healthy past few months.

Carys is FOUR

Our little Miracle Girl turned 4 on December 29!! She kept changing her mind about what she wanted to do for her birthday party and what she wanted her cake to look like. Finally she made a decision. She opted to have her party at a moonwalk place with all her school friends, non-school friends and family. She also decided she should have a pink castle cake. "God help me" was my first thought. Carys had a castle cake for her first birthday and it was a lot of work. Too bad she didn't remember it...so here I went making a castle cake to feed 50+ people. It turned out pretty good and tasted great. We all had so much fun at the moonwalk place. One of her friends told her parents that if she didn't get to have her birthday party there too, that she wouldn't come to her party. That cracked me up!!

Carys has come so far in the past four years. She is a loving, caring, smart, beautiful, sweet, sensitive, thoughtful , creative, active, healthy little girl...just to name a few words to describe her. She is a great big sister and we love her so much! Thank you God for letting her stay.

Just sharing a poem that I read often while she was in the NICU 4 years ago:
Heavenly Father full of grace
A ray of sunshine upon her face.

On this night there's one thing I pray
You gave her life so please don't take it away.

You sent her an angel to stand by her side
Thru heal pricks for gases, not a tear did she cry.

All ten fingers and all ten toes
Barely as big as a giant rose.

From two pounds to four pounds you're on your way home
My precious little girl, oh how you've grown.

On this night there's one last thing to say
Thank You God for letting her stay.

The girls with their tree on Christmas Eve...

We couldn't have asked for a better Christmas holiday season. We were at Disney World the first week of December, for our third year in a row. When we were there last time, Wraiya was only 9 weeks old. Now she was 14 months. She loved all the characters. Carys is officially a fairy. Terrance sprinkled fairy dust in her hair when we were at Pixie Hallow. I think she still has some in there. The second and third weeks we finished up our Christmas shopping and decorating. This year Carys decided not to leave cookies for Santa because everyone else does. She thought he would like Cheerios instead. So that's what we did. We left him a bowl, with the milk on the side. Carys loved getting her photo with Santa. Wraiya did not. Both girls had a blast opening presents here, with Grammie and Papa, and with the Davis family. It was a great day.
